The Play Brigade and the National Inclusion Project brought together thirty community leaders in the Boston area to discuss what it really takes to be a truly inclusive community, and what we can each do in our respective roles to help us get there. The strategic planning summit, held at John Hancock’s headquarters, featured facilitator Steve Corbin, former vice president, The Special Olympics International. Among the attendees were Travis Roy, Dick Hoyt, a representative of the Commissioner for the City of Boston Division of Parks and Recreation, and the Director of Parks and Open Space for the Town of Brookline, among many other community leaders and beyond. The group will convene twice a year to form strategy that will help position Boston as the national leader in community inclusion. Dick Hoyt will be the next consortium speaker.
